PURPLE TIGER NECKLACE AND EARRINGS SET
Handmade necklace and earrings set with black and mauve purple tiger pattern Venetian glass beads, black onyx gemstones, glass seed beads and sterling silver.
I love these substantial Venetian nugget beads that I found while digging through boxes and boxes of beads on the island of Murano. Each is about 16x20mm in size. The beads start with a mauvy purple based and on top are layered stringers of black glass, aventurine and sterling silver flake. The patterns remind me of a tiger. I combined them with large, black onyx saucers, smaller sterling silver disks and black seed beads. The necklace is strung on professional grade beading wire with a silver nylon coating. A sterling silver lobster clasp finishes off the design. The necklace measures about 22" (55.9 cm) and includes a 2" (5.1 cm) sterling silver extender chain - with a little black onyx rondelle wire wrapped to the end.
The earrings include the same style of Venetian beads, black onyx rondelles, the sterling silver disk and black seed beads. They are shown hanging on shepherds hook style sterling silver ear wires and measure about 1 3/4" (4.4 cm) from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the last bead.
