JUNGLE CRUISE EARRINGS
Artisan made teal, dark green and ivory enamel on copper earrings with apatite and sterling silver.
The colors and patterns in these drops made me think of the dappled greens with light spots and darker shadows that you might see in a jungle. The teal reminded me of water so a jungle cruise came to mind. For these enamel on copper drops I used 5 colors of glass and 7 layers. The colors in these include teal blue, dark green, black, gray, ivory and hints of brown. The beauty of crackle enamel is that there is so much depth in the glass since the upper layers of glass open up to reveal the lower layers of glass. An oval apatite bead hangs in the enamel drop. Above the drops are apatite, faceted green sapphire and Swarovski crystals. Sterling silver beads and rings add nice accents. They are wire wrapped with sterling silver wire and are shown hanging from hook style, sterling silver ear wires. They hang down 2 3/4" (7 cm).
