CALIFORNIA DREAMING EARRINGS
Handmade green, ivory, blue and black earrings with designer mariposite drops, faceted tsavorite and magnesite gemstones, green, white, black and blue artisan swirling, bumpy lampwork and sterling silver.
I just LOVE the colors in these designer drops of mariposite. While researching the stone I learned that mariposite is mined in California and was named after the town of Mariposa where it was initially discovered. The green comes from chromium and there are flakes of mica scattered all over, adding a little extra sparkle. The colors include various shades of green, black, mica sparkles and various shades of white. They hang below beautiful, artisan leopard ice bumpy lampwork barrels. Above those sit magnesite (aka ivoryite) and faceted, gem grade tsavorite beads. Sterling silver accents abound. All are wire wrapped with argentium sterling silver wire. They are shown hanging from sterling silver hook style ear wires. The earring length is a bit over 2 1/2" (6.4 cm) from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the drop.
