Wraparounds Earrings - handmade artisan organic enamel on copper blue purple turquoise srajd
WRAPAROUNDS EARRINGS
Artisan made enamel on copper drops, Sleeping Beauty turquoise copper dangle and niobium ear wires.
I had an idea when I started enameling these drops, but the enamel had it's own idea. I was hoping for teals and ivory, but the enamels and crackle weren't cooperating, so I started layering on other colors. When I added some opalescent clear, I got a dark pink! Very weird. I'm guessing it was color from the copper below. So I added some transparent blue on top and ended up with purple. After many layers of glass the result includes teals, blues, purple and off-white. I cut the copper so I could wrap some over the drop and left that raw. Once all the enameling was finished, I polished the wraparound, added a headpin (also made by me) with a nugget of Sleeping Beauty turquoise on the end. I'm happy with the final result! They are shown hanging on niobium ear wires, but you can choose your preferred ear wire style/metal. They hang down 3 1/4" (7.6 cm) from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the turquoise drop. They have a combined weight of 27.8g.
